Website provides insights into MV-22B Osprey

UNRELEASED | Aug. 16, 2012

The III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan has developed a website to help people learn more about the MV-22B Osprey.

The website includes a fact sheet that contains information about the MV-22B Osprey’s safety, proven track record, increased capabilities and benefits to the alliance and to Okinawa.

A V-22 Osprey Guidebook is also found on the Website. The guidebook contains information about the aircraft from its concept, to development, to reality.

The website also features many photos and videos from a number of operations, to include humanitarian assistance in Haiti, training, and test and evaluation missions.

The MV-22B Osprey is slated to upgrade the U.S. Marine Corps’ medium-lift capability and significantly strengthen the United State’s ability to provide the defense of Japan, to perform humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations and to fulfill other alliance roles in the region. It will replace the CH-46 Sea Knight helicopters which are being retired from service.
