On July 13, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command deployed one bomber in a bilateral air exercise with additional U.S. Air Force and Japan Self-Defense Forces aviation assets west of Kyushu, Japan, to demonstrate the consistent and capable deterrence options readily available to the U.S.-Japan Alliance.
One B-52 bomber and one KC-135 refueler aircraft with the U.S. Air Force integrated with four F-2 fighter aircraft with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, exemplifying the alliance's ability to quickly and decisively respond to threats against Japan. The U.S. remains committed to peace and prosperity throughout the Indo-Pacific alongside our Japanese allies, together acting as the cornerstone of peace and security in the region. Our bilateral commitment to the defense of Japan remains enduring and ironclad.
