INDOPACOM Statement regarding U.S. and Japan bilateral exercise:
Following the Democratic People's Republic of Korea’s ballistic missile launch over Japan on Oct. 4 (JST), U.S. Marine Corps fighters joined Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) fighters in a bilateral exercise over the Sea of Japan on Oct. 4. The JASDF and U.S. forces routinely work together to enhance operational readiness and responses to regional threats while defending our nations, and to further strengthen regional peace and stability.
The U.S.-Japan Alliance remains committed to peace and prosperity through the region in order to secure a free and open Indo-Pacific. Our commitment to the defense of the Republic of Korea and Japan remains ironclad.
